America down the toilet
Over the last thirty years of working in my profession and a union employee, I have seen the American people being fed allot of information about pro business, pro corporation, more competition is good, pay less for everything, let free market system rule the day, who can under cut who will succeed.
No regulations, no environmental protection, no interference from government, no protection for workers, make workers pay more for everything and be happy, the CEOs make millions is a good thing for employees for they can get maybe penny per dollar raise compared to the CEO. Or top managers are able to cut employee costs and be rewarded with bonuses. Here is an idea, put the CEO in the lowest paid job of the company and see how far it gets with no money and raising a family.
And you employees, if you do not like and be happy, there is the door. This movement of pro business has changed US politics to the lowest dollar bid, and you get a social system filled with injustice, greed, and no pursuit of happiness for the most US workers.
This pro business movement wants less worker protections from government, and the best way is less tax, and sell it the public that taxes are bad. Taxes pay for roads, teachers, fire, police protection, and small retirement security and maybe some medical care in old age or disabled.
Sell the workers, the new workers, on the idea that work hard for the company, take pay cuts, fund your own retirement account, pay more for your medical insurance and be happy you have a job.
The next fairytale, get and education and you are set. Right now there is 800 million dollars of student loans that cannot be paid. The students and graduates have no jobs.
And now you have a loan on your shoulders for the next 20 years plus interest.
We need a good education system while cutting teacher pay and benefits and increasing class size. Force the students to study and meet education hurdles with no assistance or achievable goal.
My past 30 year personal work history of three companies, three failed retirement plans, one company was bought and merged, one bankrupt and bought, the last just went bankrupt to cut pay, eliminate retirement, and raise medical premium by 400%
I am a highly skilled older worker, my company became more competitive by basically eliminating my defined pension, (which I counted on), to 401k, your 401K can drop by 50% due to market, this is not secure retirement, of which I am 98% responsible to fund with no time left to fund and at 65% less pay, how is this possible. I pay 400% more for medical insurance on the job and will pay 800% more in retirement. I pay more for gasoline, taxes, and all necessary items of life. Now Congress wants to correct prior errors of spending, mismanaged budget by hit Medicare, SS, and student loans.
Yes I can be retrained for Wal-Mart greeter.
My union is now a clone to management demands, with bankruptcy, the company dictated the terms of worker contracts.
Congress split on every issue with no cooperation and overspending on war supplies, aid, and pork barreling is what is wrong with the budget.
If we reduce our standard of living to India or China we can compete. Use the workers until used up and dispose of them. This reminds me of the middle ages, maybe we can learn from that history.
Oil company profits, something is gravely wrong with this picture.
What an insult to Americans, transfer of wealth from American workers to the golden bucket of the oil companies.
Trickle down economy is millions to the top few and a few dollars to workers.
Why get a high tech training, went your job can be outsourced to some paid a tenth, with little or no benefits, and no company responsibility for that outsourced contract employee.
The big picture, we require low prices because we cannot afford higher prices. Low price, low cost, low cost employees, better yet no employees, foreign outsourced contracts. Americans want low taxes, they cannot afford higher taxes their pockets are empty. Yes, we are getting more productive, more hours of work less pay.
Workers need increased wages for increased costs look around. Yes it affects the bottom line, affects stocks, got to lower costs hit the employees. This system has to change.
Top management is paid millions for company turnarounds that are funded by wage concession from the workers.
Airlines bankrupt
Automakers will be bankrupt
Auto suppliers bankrupt spin off co
Steel bankrupt
Farming depressed
Tech outsourcing
AMERICA WE NEED A CHANGE FAST
I suggest a 20/20 view from the American worker.
