The General Assembly met on 3/24/2012 at Holmes Park at 3:30 pm. There were 11 attendees. The meeting was held in an informal open discussion format.
Items discussed:
Proposal #1
What: Change the location of the General Assembly to Fee Park on 1609 Babcock St. (corner of Fee and Babcock) and specifically use pavilion located between the baseball field and tennis courts.
Why: Current location does not provide enough coverage or seating and is uncomfortable. Proposed location has a large covered pavilion with many benches which would provide adequate shelter during inclement weather as well as enough seating for future growth. It also has a playground nearby making it convenient for members with children to bring them if necessary.
How: Change location as of 03/31/2011 and update website, forum calendar and facebook meeting notices.
PASSED
Proposal #2
What: Formalize GA meetings and create an agenda
Why: Make GA meeting more productive and effective at converting ideas into action and minimize wasted time.
How: Set up agenda as follows -
1) Appoint roles – facilitator, moderator, note/minute taker
2) General/Community Announcements/WG Status and Reports
3) Review GA Process
4) Working Group Proposals
5) General Proposals
5) Recess, if necessary (to discuss blocked/tabled proposals)
6) Resolve Tabled Motions – if necessary
PASSED
Discussion points and to do items:
a) Minutes takers submit notes/minutes to web working group via email within 24 hours.
b) Create Facilitation Working Group (FWG) to formalize agenda, add time limits, detail roles, and design script for #3 above – Lisa will take FWG minutes and submit notes to Mireille for posting/printing
