I actually saw this in another GA, possibly NYCGA, that members submit proposals before the beginning of the meeting (get on stack, is it?) and then acceptance is closed - not sure if by time or number of proposals. This would help to limit the length of the meeting. Any thoughts?

There was discussion about doing something similar to this. I think it was Terry that suggested that we have a "Proposals" box that would be at the door, and passed around at the start of GA. Making life easier for Moderators and encouraging people to get their Proposals ready ahead of time. I think it is a good idea, but wouldn't want to keep someone from being able to make a proposal during the meeting if they felt it was absolutely necessary. Although, NYCGA might be using it more to organize debates. I plan on volunteering to facilitate the next GA, and was considering using a psuedo-stack to handle questions and comments. Coordinating with the Moderators maybe and giving people a number or something. This was mostly because I see a lot of people put their hand up, not get noticed, and then get skipped over once they get tired of holding their hand up. Either way, I don't know if this would require a proposal itself, but having some sort of Stack would be a good idea. Either to better control the length of the meeting, or to make sure everyone gets heard.

On a similar note, I'm working on a basic form we can use to submit proposals and make sure all the important questions are answered. Evanne suggested we could get it printed on the back of the GA meeting hand sign papers/etc

Yes, I think that how I have seen it done - you get the attention of the moderator, get on stack, possibly get a number (or the stack is numbered) and the moderator calls on you when it is your turn.
Having copies of a blank proposal form available is a good idea too. I should update the site with this proposal info. once we nail the process down.

Unrelated posts about "silencing fascist dissent" from mrliberty and answers by others was moved to OMF General Discussion.
