Please note, I am posting this only to prompt productive action. I thought to make it easier by starting threads in appropriate groups with proposals that need work. Anyone can help with these; please, and thank you. -M.E. What we need from this Work Group:If we're not trying to replace the Peace Corner, when can we use this intersection? Propose dates and why: Should we consider holding consecutive sign waves, Fridays at the Peace corner and Saturdays at Minton-PalmBayRd or vice versa? We need specifics. Anything else you can think of.

That should have been addressed and finalized at the last GA. Right now everyone is on hold waiting for news, and given hardly anyone visits here, then how are they going to find out when and where?

I think we should aim to get this planned for next weekend. So, Sat. the 19th. As for the time, around noon, or later in the afternoon around 4? OR even earlier?! When would be the best time for the group as a whole?

It was my understanding that we're at the peace corner on Friday at 4:00pm until dark for anyone who can make it. Additionally, I've created an event to confirm that for everyone else too.: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=136497553121036&context=createBecause of the above, I agree a second sign wave on the weekend would be ideal. I'd look at the traffic cam's to determine when is the busiest time on Saturdays and aim for that. I'm not sure where Terry was looking because she didn't specify but I figure I might could check the local news channels for their traffic reports or just google it. I also support starting this on the 19th since this week people might get burnt doing the march on the 11th am and then going to the peace corner for the PM and then going to Minton the next day for another. Unless that's what we want to do, I think waiting until the 19th is good. Then we'll have a busy 11th, 15th, 17th, and 19th. Giving us a little time in between each to make sure the next ones ducks are in a row.

Hold off until the 19th so we can adequately promote it.
We absolutely need to base the 'official' times on the highest level of traffic, make it clear that people can come for however long they would like to.
edit: I also forgot to say that I am going to be performing in a friend's wedding on the 19th so I won't be able to be there, but I think it's best to start then.

I've been looking though all of the forum pages in an attempt to put together a press release. However, as I've noted elsewhere many of the actionable items have been tabled. As example: (1) 11-17 action - will an OMF action take place and if so when and where, (2) Peace Corner - is this still the site where we support action every Friday and if so, at what time does it start?, (3) Other protest sites - I'm not sure of the status of this proposal, (4) Occupation Site - I see folks are discussing locations and logistics, but I don't recall this being discussed during a GA meeting; are we moving towards a long-term occupation site/action?
Bottom line is despite our having several meetings (many being way too long; I have to leave by 8:30), we've struggled to pass many of the proposals that are specific to our area. In addition, it remains very difficult to find an OMF website where our events (protests, meetings) are clearly summarized. That said, I commend those who have taken, transcribed, and posted the GA minutes!
I hope there is progress during the next GA.
