I will get that information to our people.
Questions:
1. Are you willing to consider those without legal backgrounds?
2. Are you able to provide a "basic duties and responsibilities" list for the position?
Cheers,
M.E.

In answer to your questions:
I would consider life or work experience or study in the legal arenas where I litigate. Mostly, my practice is civil rights, employment law, and anti-fraud -- all on behalf of the good guys. I fight against racial and sexual harassment and other forms of discrimination, and also fight against violations of free speech, freedom from false arrest/unreasonable searches and seizures, and due process rights. So, it helps a lot if the assistant is knowledgeable about and experienced in various facets of those fields. A liberal outlook and commitment to civil rights -- plus an exquisite sense of humor -- probably are necessities.
Regarding duties, flexibility is important. The assistantship is varied and interesting, and the hours and other terms and conditions are flexible. I am completely without eyesight, so I need more help with reading and formatting of paperwork than do most sighted attorneys. Also, I do not drive, so my assistant would be required to drive me to court and other appearances, plus run errands; e.g., post office. Using computers for performing word processing, scanning, uploading, internet searches, and Quickbooks. Answering telephones, interacting with clients, and analyzing discovery are other important job functions.
My office is on my property on Merritt Island, near the Pineda Causeway.
Salary and other terms and conditions of employment are negotiable.
