So, I have a lot of PDF's and what-not of pamphlets and books and things that I have collected from across the internet. I think it would be a good idea to use these to start an online library of some kind. We could maybe start a google group, and upload them to docs? I am not sure of any other immediately feasible way to handle this. I am certain there is a more efficient, user-friendly, and prettier way that requires servers and actually knowing to code... Eventually, I want to start up a People's Mobile Lending Library. Getting a place set up where we can start amassing, and cataloging literature would be the first step. The goal being to set up at parks and events and such. For me it is important that this function solely on a donations basis as far as funding, and all lending should be free. This of course means that we have to function under that arcane idea known as the "honor system" where expect people to be responsible for the books and returning them to us of their volition... Either way, what's up? Let us expand this idea!?

Excellent. For many, many years I have wished to see this come to pass in Melb. Also--whether for online or for mobile library--are there ways to have audio? E.g., I don’t know anything about copyright issues to make podcasts or radio / tv broadcasts publicly available. (Naturally, physical books-on-tape type audio’s could be included in a mobile library.) Since 2002 I have subscribed to DISH TV in order to access 24/7 progressive news and documentaries via Free Speech (http://FreeSpeech.org) and LINK TV (http://linktv.org). I put outdoor speakers on my property, but this couldn’t reach passers-by. Of course there are other resources, including relative to our state and county, such as www.blogtalkradio.com/fpc ... One can post links (incl. to streaming global Occupy websites + informative YouTube videos) at an online library, but how to perk up some ears of people who are clueless that “alternative” media exists and, thus, aren’t inclined to proactively seek it out? A mobile library could conceivably have an audio area--whether playing donated recordings to peak interest or live online / radio / tv shows. (DISH or Murdoch-related DirecTV would be problematic, being satellite subscription delivery.)

The link above took me to a google sign in page... I've uploaded them to a directory on the site, should be easy to access. Here's the link: occupymelbournefl.org/Radical_Library/We can design something prettier at some point...I have to give it some thought. We have fairly unlimited web hosting resources through Mayfair, so we can build a whole media empire, we just need to figure out how to do it in an organized way and use the most appropriate tools (hopefully all free). If any one has any ideas they want to see implemented, just give me a buzz over at the web working group sub-board.
