Let's get ideas out there and then we can start breaking it down and volunteering for parts.
Based off discussion on the 10-31 minutes, I have started this thread with these ideas:
-Short GA Summaries each week. This would be cool because it could be the article to accompany the posting of the minutes in our blog as well as a static link.
-MORE PHOTOS/VIDEOS of us DOING THINGS, even conducting a GA. A guy from SCPA came to the meeting and was totally floored that the process worked at all. He was blown away that it worked well. We need to show people that GA is a place where all ideas for action are heard, and where there is direct access to the process of politics.
-Blog/interview type stories...could take different paths, but I think choosing one unifying one would be good. "Why I'm here", "99% statements", "postcards from the coast" something personal and soapbox-like. Not just ours but others from the group that are willing to share. We have some who love to share! The postcards idea is one trying to bring in our geography.
Let's get some ideas out there. What do you find interesting on other Occupy sites?

We need to draft a mission statement and/or any other pertinent information for our ABOUT page. Currently there is nothing there.
Also, I was thinking about adding a CONTACT page, but didn't know if this was appropriate. Maybe just add a generic organization gmail address (which some would have to agree to check and/or have email forwarded to them) and the information of the weekly GA plus directions and all pertinent links for our group - social media, etc. I can do this quickly but need to know who to put down as contact(s). (EDIT: Actually the email and GA address/time could be on the sidebar, which would show on all pages, instead of a CONTACT page.)
I plan on recording the GA's I attend so I can offer the audio links in the GENERAL ASSEMBLY page.
I have added many good resource links in RESOURCES (don't want to overcrowd with too many links as most already take you to other resources), but I wanted to complete links to local occupy groups (Florida). I have Orlando, Space Coast and Miami. I can do the rest myself but it would be a big administrative help if someone researched these for me and sent me the list.
We can add a GALLERY for pics and graphics. (These will have to be linked in through some media storage service like photobucket or maybe our google profile, since we don't have appropriate storage within wordpress).
Note: Not sure if there is a limitation to the number of pages we can add to the menu. If so, we will have to get creative with the above suggestions. We'll find a way...

Example summery below? Though if someone can shorten it even more, I'm cool with that. It's hard for me to distill things sometimes."Occupy Melbourne, Florida's second General Assembly met successfully, with twenty-eight people in attendance, on October 31st at 7pm at the Sun Shoppe and Cafe in downtown Melbourne. The Facebook Page is currently the best location for information and cannot be renamed as the page has over 200 "likes." The Website will be up and running soon with a similar URL to the forum (occupymelbournefl.proboards.com). Announced was Occupy SpaceCoast's working in tandem with Occupy Melbourne's sign waving in their own neck of the woods off of 520 and Courtenay every Friday though the first week in November they've chosen to shift gears to Saturday the 5th. Proposals for future Assemblies will be collected in a "Suggestion" like box as passed in the meeting along with new work groups to help organize and delegate tasks to further the Revolution. New Work Groups include: Peacekeeper, Legal, Materials which is doubling as Medical until more volunteers come forth, Media (also web), Education, Issues, Outreach, and Direct Action. If you're interested in lending a hand in one of these Work Groups please see the Working Group section of the message board. For more detailed information of the meeting itself, please see the Meeting Minutes on the message board or here: docs.google.com/document/d/1MfTJEnzyZQdLM5VwcPZX7RfKbZ5xzNM3lsprJ9HhRB0/edit?pli=1"If the website doesn't yet, we should include a Calendar to make it easy for people to see what we're doing, when and where.
Also, here's a list of Florida Occupies: occupyflorida: sites.google.com/site/occupyflorida/occupyflorida on tumblr : occupyflorida.org/occupyflorida on facebook : www.facebook.com/occupyfloridaoccupydaytona : www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Daytona-Beach/264883500218247occupyftlauderdale : www.facebook.com/occupyfortlauderdaleoccupyjacksonville : www.facebook.com/OccupyJaxoccupymiami : occupymia.org/occupyorlando: www.occupyorlando.org/occupyorlando on FB: www.facebook.com/OccupyOrlandooccupypensacola : www.facebook.com/occupypensacolaoccupysarasota : www.facebook.com/occupysarasotaoccupytallahassee : www.facebook.com/occupytallyoccupytampa : www.facebook.com/OccupyTampaoccupyverobeach: www.occupyverobeach.org/ It might be good to offer a City Map with our usual locations marked on it so people know where to find us at a glance... that's all I got right now.

Let me know if you hate it. I don't feel like it is overly long, so I didn't really try to shrink it down.

Looks good to me and I don't mind removing the part about the likes.

So, should this be a post on the main page? Or in a specific section?

I would say a GA link which offers these summaries with a link to the minutes...

I can set up a google calendar for us. Do we want to try and occupy a gmail address? Have we done that already?

I added the summary with a few modifications to the website blog.
There is an email address for the web group but there should be a main one for the organization as a whole - example - occupymelbournefl@gmail.com for the calendar and other similar needs.
I ask again, who will step up to be the main contact for that email? I'm already one of the contacts for the web group email address (occupymlbflwebgroup@gmail.com).
Thanks for the links!

I have set up a gmail with almost that exact address. ;D (occupymlbfl@gmail.com) I would be willing to be the main contact for that. Unless you guys think someone else might be better at it.

James, thanks for creating the email! I'm fine with you being the contact if you have time to answer possible emails. Just remember to forward the emails to yourself to make it easier on you!
Check out Occupymia.org - they've linked in a goggle calendar on their home page. Also, another idea is we could add "Upcoming events" on the sidebar and link to events in FB or some other place (meetup?). The latter will require more maintenance but I am usually on top of it.
